This page shows my progress in demonstrating my professional disposition as a music educator. This includes working with students, families, colleagues, and the community.

The first example of my progress is a self-assessment of my professional disposition during the Fall 2012 semester of my student teaching. I gave myself a 29/30 based on the criteria listed in the evaluation. I took a point off of the "checking email" category because I hadn't been doing well with that in the Fall. I have since then improved and now check and respond to email promptly.

During my Fall 2012 semester of student teaching, I recorded two videos of my teaching. For each of these videos I completed a self-assessment as well as a reflection on how it impacted the students and how I could have improved my instruction.

Video 2 Evaluation and Reflection:

My next example is also from my Fall 2012 student teaching. It is a summative reflection of my experience and progress as a student teacher during my high school teaching internship.

Shown below are my teaching philosophy and rationale I created during the Spring 2013 semester after my final student teaching experience. My philosophy reflects my teaching style and how I believe music education should be introduced into a classroom. My rationale defends my reasons for why music education should be included in school curricula.

I have also included my resume, outlining my skills and achievements during both my undergraduate and graduate college careers:

The final example of my work in this category is another video collage I made during my Spring 2013 semester as a student teacher at the middle school level. This particular video collage is about my progress from giving students vague feedback such as "good" or "bad" to specific feedback on technique that will help them succeed in the classroom.
