Welcome to my e-Portfolio!

My name is Jenna George and I am from Herndon, Virginia. I started taking private lessons on clarinet before 4th grade and ended up switching to saxophone at the end of 6th grade, right before I entered middle school. I owe a tremendous amount of gratitude to my private teacher; those weekly lessons were the spark that lit the flame. After that, both my inspiration to become a teacher and my passion for music grew because of the extremely talented and dedicated teachers I had throughout my middle school and high school years in band.

I came to Virginia Tech in the fall of 2009, and graduated in May of 2013 with my B.A. in Music. Virginia Tech was an exciting place for me during my undergraduate career; I had a plethora of extremely beneficial opportunities and experiences that helped ignite my passion and encouraged me to become a confident teacher and muisician. From performing at VMEA, The Kennedy Center, and Carnegie Hall with The Virginia Tech Symphonic Wind Ensemble, to completing a successful Senior Recital, playing in multiple saxophone quartets, and traveling, performing, and volunteering with the Marching Virginians, I know I have learned some valuable lessons.

After completing some highly successful student teaching experiences at the Elementary School level, Middle School level, and High School level, I couldn't be more excited to graduate this May with my M.A. in Education, with a concentration in Curriculum and Instruction. I look forward to entering the professional world as a Music Educator and being an advocate for the Arts.
